CULINARY EXPERIENCE
The Women’s Committee of the association prepares traditional foods for interested tourists. They are able to prepare meals for groups of 10 to 50 people. Our specialties are: Pachmanca(a food that is cooked in an earthen pit with hot stones—“Pachamanca” literally means “pot in the earth”—and includes chicken, beef or pork, yams, sweet potatoes, sweet tamales, and fava bean pods), Puca Picante(a typical dish from the artisan’s homeland, Ayacucho, which includes potatoes, beets, and peanuts), and Chicharrón(a pork dish that is a specialty of Lurin).
