OUR VISION
In 2012 Ichimay Wari is realizing creative and high-quality production and is positioned in the local, national and international market; we have become an important nucleus of alternative tourism in Lurin, generating jobs in our community. We at Ichimay Wari are involved in the development of our community and spreading our cultural inheritance throughout the world. We have succeeded in bettering our quality of life with the motto: “Always above the Competition.”

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Sacred Hands Producing Sacred Artisan Crafts: Contributing to the local cultural identity through the promotion of ecological artisan crafts and the development of new values and techniques representing the local iconography in the district of Lurin.
Teaching the English language to children and adults in the Artisan’s Neighborhood: Increasing children and adult’s general knowledge and awareness through the English language, and giving them the advantage of being able to communicate in the most commonly spoken language in the world, and the language utilized most commonly in virtual communication and other mediums.
Chocolatadas: With the goal of bettering the spirit of fellowship in the neighborhood, the association organizes a chocolatada each year during the Christmas festivities. In this event, needy children and youth are served hot are served hot chocolate and sponge cake or fruit cake.

CULTURE AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Typical foods of Ayacucho and Lurin
The Ichimay Wari Artisan Association includes a Women’s Committee that presents traditional foods of Peru. For example: Pachmanca (food that is cooked in an earthen pit with hot stones—“Pachamanca” literally means “pot in the earth”—and includes chicken, beef or pork, yams, sweet potatoes, sweet tamales, and fava bean pods), Puca Picante (a typical dish from the artisan’s homeland, Ayacucho, which includes potatoes, beets, and peanuts), and Chicharrón (a pork dish that is a specialty of Lurin).
Traditional dance
A competition with the participation of educative institutions in which the participants perform traditional dances that reflect the customs and traditional activities of the regions of Ayacucho and Lurin. |

Painting competition
A competition that takes into account the local iconography of Lurin and Ayacucho, with the participation of educative institutes and children and youth that are interested in the arts of painting and drawing.
Fraternal sports games
Fraternal sports games are carried out with the participation of the artisans and their families, but also with the enthusiasts of each sport. We hold soccer games, volleyball games, and races, among other events. |
