Ceferino Huaraca Sánchez was born on August 26, 1972, in the annex of Moya, district of Quinua, department of Ayacucho, to Ayacuchan parents. He came to Lima for the first time alongside his older brother because of the social violence in Ayacucho, and there he began to create some artisanal pieces at the age of 17.
In 1990 he moved to Lurin, also alongside his brother, where he worked for four consecutive years to perfect his artisan techniques, from the use of natural colors and pigments to mastering the elaboration of molds for his own figures. He comes from a large family of 11 siblings. Through the experience acquired during the time he worked with his brothers, he now elaborates his own models of various sizes, as much practical as decorative. He promotes his models to businesses in order to sell them, and in this way he works in the company of his family. |
